Cross-cutting Areas

Providence Research is home to a wide range of research programs and centres. From hematology and radiology research, to emergency and laboratory medicine, basic and applied research methods contribute to new scientific knowledge and innovative partnerships across disciplines.

Cross-Cutting research programs address health issues in our diverse patient population. Patient-oriented outcomes research, for example, serves to advance health interventions, improve practice in caring for the elderly, and develop treatment for patients with infectious diseases. Biomarker research targets early diagnosis and drug development for heart and lung disease. The renowned radiology division work collaboratively with cardiologists to identify new, minimally invasive heart procedures for patients. Other research areas include obstetrics & gynaecology and nursing. Together, these cross-cutting programs inform best practices and transformational care for all patients.
