Sahar Shahidi is a Clinical Trial Coordinator at the BC Centre on Substance Use and the University of British Columbia. She holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience and has six years of experience in clinical trial coordination and research.
She currently leads the coordination of the ASCME clinical trial, a research study conducted by the Canadian Research Initiative for Substance Misuse (CRISM) at St. Paul’s Hospital’s Rapid Access Addiction Clinic (RAAC). The ASCME trial investigates whether the addition of high-dose lisdexamfetamine (LDX-01), a psychostimulant, and engagement-focused contingency management (CM), alone or in combination, to treatment as usual (TAU) can effectively reduce methamphetamine (MA) use in individuals with moderate to severe MA use disorder over a 12-week treatment period.
Throughout her career, Sahar has contributed to numerous research studies and clinical trials across Alberta and British Columbia. Over the past three years, her work has been primarily dedicated to methamphetamine use disorder, advancing research in substance use treatment.
