The recent CIHR Foundation Grant competition funded 63 researchers across Canada. Of these researchers, nine are from BC; two of whom are PHCRI researchers: Dr. Lindsey Richardson from the BC-CfE and Dr. Keith Walley from the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation.

In 2016, the PHC Mental Health program began a partnership with Dr. Joseph Puyat, a Scientist at the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcomes Science (CHÉOS), and a team of researchers and health professionals, to assess the care delivered to patients with early psychosis.
All staff and researchers are invited to attend the upcoming PHC Knowledge Translation Community of Practice meeting.
Presenting at this meeting is Alina McKay, PhD Candidate, UBC School of Population and Public Health, sharing lessons learned from her work with the Making Research Accessible Initiative on plain language summaries for sharing research findings with a variety of audiences.

PHCRI is delighted to partner with the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research on the inaugural Health Professional-Investigator Award, supporting exceptional health professionals in their research to find solutions towards challenges derived from their clinical practice settings.

This is a two-part workshop series covering Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Quality and the Calibration and Maintenance of Equipment in Clinical Trials.
These workshops cover the main components of documentation recording including ALCOAC practices and quality management systems and process requirements necessary to satisfy regulatory and industry expectations related to calibration and equipment maintenance.
Join PHCRI for the annual Research Day celebration, featuring a research update from Dr. Paul Man, President of PHCRI, keynote presentation from Dr. Julio Montaner, Director of BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, and the announcement of the 2017 Research and Mission Award recipient. Attend the annual Celebrate Research Public Lecture, co-hosted by Providence Health Care Research Institute, Vancouver Coastal Health Reserach Institute, and the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute.
This year's event, Genetics and Your Health: How genes determine your chances for heart, lipid and undiagnosed diseases, features leaders in genetics research from our hosting institutions. You will learn about the determinants of dyslipidemia, arrhythmia, and in some cases of undiagnosed diseases among children.
Providence Health Care Research Institute and Providence Health Care is inviting nominations for the 2017 PHC Research and Mission Award. This award recognizes a scientist in our organization who demonstrates the mission and values of Providence Health Care while conducting outstanding research.
