John Gill MD, MS, FRCPC, Fellow of the American Society of Transplantation, is Professor of Medicine with Tenure at The University of British Columbia, Division of Nephrology, St. Paul’s Hospital and a Research Scientist in the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcomes Sciences.
John completed his medical training in 2000 (BSc 1990 UBC, MD 1995 UBC, Internal Medicine 1998 UWO, Nephrology 2000 UBC) and completed a Masters degree in clinical care research at Tuft’s University in Boston (2002) before joining the Division of Nephrology at UBC in July, 2002.
John is an active researcher whose interests include clinical outcomes in kidney transplantation, access to care, clinical trials and health services research.
John has published over 175 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has held peer reviewed research support throughout his career. He holds a CIHR Foundation Research Award and is a recipient of The American Society of Transplantation Clinical Investigator Award.
John is Deputy Editor of the American Journal of Transplantation, Councilor at large on the American Society of Transplantation Board of Directors, Councilor of the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group, Chair of the AST Annual Fellows Educational Meeting, Past President of the Canadian Society of Nephrology, and Past President of the Canadian Organ Replacement Register.
