Research
The scope of research carried out by PHCRI investigators includes laboratory (including gene-based research); clinical; health services; population health; outcomes and prevention; and policy development research.
Integrated with care and teaching, research spans more than 30 programs and disciplines across the PHC sites.
The strong linkage between science and patient care at PHC fosters an ideal environment for applied research and knowledge translation.
Several of PHCRI’s major research centres are directly aligned with the PHC populations of emphasis. The populations are: heart/lung, renal, HIV/AIDS, mental illness, specialized needs in aging and urban health/vulnerable populations.
