Congratulations new and renewed Canada Research Chairs

The Government of Canada announced this week it was investing more than $156 million for 187 new and renewed Canada Research Chairs at 49 institutions across the country. Among the Fall 2018 recipients are Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) Principal Investigator Dr. Liam Brunham, a new Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Precision Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, and Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences (CHÉOS) Scientist Dr. Richard Sawatzky, a renewed Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Person-Centred Outcomes.

The Canada Research Chairs Program invests approximately $265 million per year to attract and retain some of the world’s most accomplished and promising minds. Chairholders aim to achieve research excellence in engineering and the natural sciences, health sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
