Congratulations CIHR Fall 2018 Project Grant recipients

CIHR announced the recipients of its Fall 2018 Project Grants last week and several PHC-affiliated researchers are among the successful principal investigators. Additionally, many PHC-affiliated researchers will act as co-investigators on funded projects. CIHR approved 371 research grants, plus 18 bridge grants, for a total investment of approximately $275 million.

Here are the funded PHC projects:

Project Title: Network Meta-Analysis of Opioid Agonist Treatments for street opioid users
Principal Investigators: Nicholas Bansback and Eugenia Oviedo-Joekes (Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences)

Project Title: Harnessing cross-reactive T cell receptors to eliminate latent HIV reservoirs
Principal Investigator: Mark A Brockman (BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS)

Project Title: Improving the identification and treatment of young adults with heart disease: the Study to Avoid cardioVascular Events in British Columbia (SAVE BC)
Principal Investigators: Liam Brunham Liam and Simon Pimstone (Centre for Heart Lung Innovation)

Project Title: Housing and overdose risk environments: A community-based participatory research study
Principal Investigators: Ryan Mcneil and Jade Boyd (BC Centure on Substance Use)

Project Title: Motor vehicle crash risk after cardioverter-defibrillator implantation: A population-based evaluation
Principal Investigator: John Staples (Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences)

Project Title: Improving Health Economic Evaluation: Better Measures of Work Productivity Losses due to Illness in Canada
Principal Investigator: Wei Zhang (Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences)
